Since it is a very malleable, strong, versatile, and easy-to-work material, it’s important to remember that all our pieces are handmade.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc in varying proportions (changing these proportions will affect its properties and uses). In addition to being used in jewelry-making (due to its golden color), it is also widely used in architecture for decorative interior and exterior elements (such as railings, lamps, faucets), thanks to its aesthetic finish, corrosion resistance, and durability.

TECHNIQUE
The technique we use is ECOAT: Flash gold plating (nickel, lead, and cadmium-free).
This process involves immersing the brass piece several times in liquid gold until the jewelry piece is fully coated in gold, using electricity.
First, the (handmade) piece is cleaned in its base material (brass), and steam, electricity, or ultrasound is used to ensure the gold adheres properly.
Then, to further improve adhesion and reinforce the gold coating, a thin intermediate metal layer is applied.
Finally, the piece is immersed in gold and a positive electric charge is applied to attract and bond the gold ions to the base metal (brass).
