Vintage, books, chocolate, cats, history and Greece. Those are my big loves - order differs based on mood & circumstances 😊😉.
l love 40s and 50s vintage (though am know to visit the 20s, 30s, 60s and 70s on occasion) of its elegance and the way a woman's body will be shown to its full advantage, no matter the size tag.
I'm a former magazine and website editor (in chief) and (published) historian, but due to several chronic illnesses and severe nerve damage no longer able to do any of those things.
After I was told I would never be able to work again I decided that staring at the ceiling all day isn't my thing. Well, my body makes it my thing, but there are still a few hours in the week I can be upright 😁. Those hours - minus time for earlier mentioned furry kids - are now fully committed to my Instagram account @retrostylereview where I show other chronic illness warriors, as well as any woman regardless of age, size or health that you can look amazing with not too much effort, nor loads of money.
Anyone looking for tips and support - and fashion inspiration - is welcome. And in the meantime I prove that being ill doesn't mean *looking it*. Illness does not have 'a look', nor should it.
Fashion can actually be a medicine of sorts. A mental support that'll translate into feeling better, with improved handling of any kind of mental or physical pain - or even just a crappy day ;).
Looks for Less, Budget Beauty Babe, Frugal Vintage, Vintage Finds, Retro Review, Cherish what you Can - instead of Cussing over what you Can't - and being Chronically Fabulous are all terms you'll encounter when you're a follower, or friend. I've made my own bad situation and experience into a helpful tool and added a lot of my loves to it.
Vinted helps me find an affordable wardrobe to feel & look Chronically Fabulous. And in return I hope that showing those Finds will be partially instrumental into helping others regain their strength, or just their fashion sense. You can start by looking into my closet 😊.
ABOUT MY CLOSET
I have so many new or barely worn items on here because of periods of being bedridden (and resulting weight gain). Worn items have been on my body for max 3hrs, so you're still getting a practically new dress, skirt or top.
All new items have a discount of at least 50% - that's a steal for these gorgeous (but often pricey) modern vintage & retro clothes. Items that are worn just once are often even cheaper. Bundles get an extra discount up to 30 %! My true vintage accessories will be priced decent. I'll be showing those off on my IG.
